Antonio Gates had a big day receiving, leading the way to a solid victory for the Chargers over the Raiders, 38-26, at Overstock.com Coliseum.
Philip Rivers picked apart the Raiders for three touchdowns on 19 of 26 passing for 310 yards and one pick. Carson Palmer gave his best effort to keep the Raiders competitive, going 28 of 43 with 417 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick.
Mike Tolbert rushed for 58 yards on nine carries with a touchdown while adding one reception for 13 yards. Gates was a weapon for the offense, catching five balls for 106 yards with a touchdown.
The San Diego defense gave up 103 yards rushing and 417 passing.
Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey had a productive game with 130 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Denarius Moore had a good game as well with 101 receiving yards.
